Wine of the Month:
"Roter Veltliner"
Roter Veltliner is an old white wine grape variety that demands a high-quality vineyard site. It is very susceptible to fungal diseases and winter and spring frosts. The variety is extremely high-yielding (a heavy producer). If yield control is not implemented, the wines become thin and lack character. However, with proper vinification and vinification, Roter Veltliner is a rare and exceptional wine.

Whether Roter Veltliner originates from Austria or Italy remains unclear. The similar-looking grape varieties (Valtelin) examined in Italy have no genetic connection to Roter Veltliner in Austria, so Austria can be assumed to be its country of origin.
